It’s the most wonderful time of the year! So don’t let your roof ruin Christmas. Give Santa a safe place to land and come down the chimney, not fall through the roof! Here’s how to get your roof ready for St. Nick.

Up On The Rooftop, Reindeer Pause

Make sure your roof is ready for landing. We recommend getting a roof inspection performed a few times a year. Or, you can have regular roof maintenance done by a local roofer. Staying proactive can help minimize costs, eliminate emergencies, and prepare you for upkeep in the future.

Out Jumps Good Ol’ Santa Clause

Is Santa coming to your office or business this year? Protect your roof when Santa jumps out of his sleigh full of presents by installing walk pads on your commercial roof. Walking pads will also help protect your roof from regular maintenance traffic.

Down Through the Chimney with Lots of Toys

Check the integrity of your chimney so that Santa can fit or doesn’t break anything on his way down. Breakage can cause leaks. He can also damage your flashing on his way in and out. Flashing on older roofs is a common failure point.

Make a List and Check it Twice

Coming up in 2022, resolve to make a list of what you need to do to keep your roof in good condition.

Find Out Who’s Naughty & Nice

Make sure the roofer you hire isn’t on the naughty list. Check references. Ask friends whom they use or what they know about the roofer you’re planning to hire. Find out if the roofing company is trustworthy by checking reviews and sites like Guild Quality, Better Business Bureau, and Yelp.

Don’t forget to check your gutters, especially after Santa comes. He may have dropped some coal from his sleigh for the kids (and roofers) on the naughty list!

On Dasher, On Dancer, On Prancer

It’s time for Santa to leave your home or business and move on to the next place. He springs to his sleigh, gives his team a whistle, and away he flies like the down of a thistle.

On Christmas morning, did you notice any granules on the ground? It could be a sign that you need a new roof. Santa can only land on shingles for 20-25 years before they need to be replaced. If you’re getting close, schedule an inspection or a roof replacement so you don’t have any surprises next year.
